Inner-tube Boys Progress

I had to take a break from working on this to finish the drawing of my grandfather for the 100 for 100 fundraiser. I will start working again on it soon and it will be up to view in the SCIART Gallery on March 9th.

Kid Series Drawing 1

This photo shows the size of the drawing. the top left corner is a 4"x6" photo. The drawing os on a 20"x 30" bright white, smooth water color paper.

This is after about 8 hours of work (not including the tracing). The swim trunks on these boys are tough! A challenge I choose to except!

New Projector!

I have finally bought a projector to use in my art! It helps me so much in the drawing process so I can focus on developing the value and details of my drawings!

This is kind of difficult to see, but I have the projector sitting on my desk and my easel set up on the right.

This is how awesome the projector is! I can make the image as big or small as I want and trace the general guidelines on my paper! Its so sweet!

You really have to look closely at this image (click on it to make it larger so you can see). The traced image is of the two boys from the photo above. I have started to work to add value to this piece. It is part of a series of drawing I want to do of the children I work with. This is the first one! Pictures to come soon!

Updates on a Few Drawings

I have started and am continuing to work on both old and new projects. Here are some of the images I have been working on:

Continuing to develop this drawing of my brother. I have been working on it for a long time, so I am really trying to get it finished. It is still slow in coming, but hopefully will be completed soon.

This is a drawing of a ballerina I started. I am planning on using values on her body and doing a line drawing for her costume.

These two illustrations were originally in a sketchbook. I decided to redraw them in sharpie on bristol board.

This is a drawing of my Grandfather in 1956 when he was in the Air Force. My grandfather recently passed away and while I was in Michigan for his funeral I drew this.

Here I decided to try color pencil on black paper. I found this image of a flower in my reference image collection.
