A New Year and New Opportunities!

I have always done drawings for other people as gifts. So when my boss saw the drawings I did for the families I work with, she encouraged me to get some business cards and to start getting paid for my drawings. I had given the idea thought before, but nothing really ever came of it. However, I did get some business cards and put them in the drawings I gave out this Christmas (actually I gave them in January, but they were originally intended as Christmas presents).

Since the finishing of my 26 portrait drawings I have already gotten requests from parents to do portrait drawings of their other children! And as if that is not exciting enough, I have also been asked to do about 10-16 drawings for Moxie Hair Studio. The owner, who is my hair dresser, wants to make new business cards for her and her staff. So she has asked me to draw portraits of her staff to go on their new business cards! So awesome! I am very excited to start doing that project and the others that are coming my way, too!

I am also getting the opportunity to teach drawing to students through Calvary Nexus in Camarillo. They have an after school program called The Bridge. Every Tuesday I will be there from 3-6 teaching drawing techniques, idea development, and really anything else that the students may want to learn.

This new year is becoming a great start for me as an artist and teacher and the best part is... God is with me 100% and has given me all of these chances to use my talents to glorify Him! What an honor it is! I am so blessed!
