Back from Romania

During the month of July I was on a Mission trip to Romania. I worked at a summer camp for orphans and local village children called Camp of the Good Shepherd. In summary of that trip, my time in Romania was a BLESSING. My life has been richly blessed thanks to God providing me with the opportunity to see His work at Camp of the Good Shepherd. Debbie Marshall, the founder of Heart of Hope Ministries, (http://www.heartofhope.org/ ) has allowed God to work through her in many ways to provide so many children in Romania with the love and care they need.  This is what the Camp looks like:

During the month of July there were 4 different weeks of camp, with about 50-60 kids each week. I served with volunteers from Romania, who acted as our translators and became our close friends. I am completely amazed at the connections and bonds I now have with people I have only known for a week. God is so good to me!
Our Camp days started with a team meeting, followed by breakfast, bible studies, crafts and games, then lunch. After lunch we planned sports tournaments, hang-out time and hikes or playing in the river that ran through camp.  Dinner came next, followed by our nightly program, which consisted of worship, icebreakers/games and sermons about Jesus.
So many wonderful things happened at camp, so many lives were changed, including my own. My love for the children and volunteers I met will always be firmly planted in my heart.  I also have come up with a few art pieces to work on now that I am back. Here is one of them:
